இன்று (2026.09.18) முதல், யோகபுரம் மகா வித்தியாலயத்தில் மாணவர்களின் ஊடகத்துறை சார்ந்த திறன்களை மேம்படுத்தும் நோக்கில் “ஊடகக் கழகம்” என்ற புதிய கழகம் உத்தியோகபூர்வமாக தனது செயற்பாடுகளை ஆரம்பித்துள்ளது.
இக்கழகத்தின் பொறுப்பாசிரியர்களாக செல்வி தருமரத்தினம் யாழினி மற்றும் திருமதி கோபி கிருஸ்ணா ஜானகி ஆகியோர் நியமிக்கப்பட்டுள்ளனர்.
இக்கழகத்தின் அங்குரார்ப்பண நிகழ்வு இன்று சிறப்பாக நடைபெற்றதுடன், அதன் ஓர் அங்கமாக முதலாவது ஊடகவியலாளர் சந்திப்பும் இடம்பெற்றது.
பாடசாலையில் நடைபெறும் விழாக்கள், நிகழ்வுகள் மற்றும் முக்கிய செயற்பாடுகளை முறையாக ஆவணப்படுத்துதல், அவை தொடர்பான செய்திகளை ஊடகங்களுக்கு வழங்குதல் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு ஊடகத்துறை சார்ந்த செயற்பாடுகளை முன்னெடுப்பதே இக்கழகத்தின் முக்கிய நோக்கங்களாகும்.
ஊடகக் கழகத்தின் செயற்பாடுகளுக்குத் தேவையான அனுசரணையை, யோகபுரம் மகா வித்தியாலயத்தின் பழைய மாணவரும் போர்க்கால ஊடகவியலாளருமான திரு. கார்த்திகேசு சுரேன் அவர்கள் வழங்கியுள்ளார்.
இன்றைய அங்குரார்ப்பண நிகழ்வின் பிரதம விருந்தினராக முல்லை மாவட்ட ஊடக மையத்தின் தலைவர் திரு. தவசீலன் அவர்களும், சிறப்பு விருந்தினர்களாக முல்லை மாவட்ட புகைப்படக் கலைஞர்கள் சங்கத்தின் உப தலைவர் திரு. கிரிதரன் அவர்களும், பாடசாலை அபிவிருத்திச் சங்கத்தின் செயலாளர் திரு. விஜிதன் அவர்களும் கலந்து சிறப்பித்தனர்.
நிகழ்வின் போது, பாடசாலை ஊடகக் கழகத்தின் தலைவர் ர. ரிஷீபன் அவர்களால் ஊடகவியலாளர் சீருடையும் ஊடகக் கழகத்தின் சின்னமும் அறிமுகப்படுத்தப்பட்டன. அத்துடன், ஊடகக் கழகம் ஆரம்பிக்கப்பட்டதன் நோக்கம் தொடர்பான உரையையும் அவர் நிகழ்த்தியதுடன், அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து நடைபெற்ற ஊடகவியலாளர் சந்திப்பிலும் பங்கேற்றார்.
மாணவர்களின் படைப்பாற்றல், தொடர்பாடல் திறன், ஊடக அறிவு மற்றும் தொழில்நுட்பத் திறன்களை வளர்ப்பதற்கான சிறந்த களமாக இவ்வூடகக் கழகம் அமையவுள்ளது.

With effect from today (2026.09.18), a new “Media Club” has been officially launched at Yogapuram Maha Vidiyalayam with the aim of enhancing students’ skills and knowledge in the field of media.
Miss Dharumaratnam Yazhini and Mrs. Gopikrishna Janaki have been appointed as the Teacher Advisors of the Media Club.
The inauguration ceremony of the Media Club was held successfully today, as part of which the club’s first Press Conference was also conducted.
The primary objectives of the Media Club include systematically documenting school functions, events and important activities, providing news and information related to these activities to the media, and carrying out various other media-related activities.
The necessary sponsorship and support for the activities of the Media Club were provided by Mr. Karthigesu Suren, a former student of Yogapuram Maha Vidiyalayam and a wartime journalist.
The inauguration ceremony held today was graced by Mr. Thavaseelan, President of the Mullaitivu District Media Centre, as the Chief Guest, along with Mr. Kiritharan, Vice President of the Mullaitivu District Photographers’ Association, and Mr. Vijithan, Secretary of the School Development Society, as Special Guests.
During the event, R. Risheeban, President of the School Media Club, officially introduced the Media uniform and the Media Club logo. He also delivered an address on the objectives behind the establishment of the Media Club and participated in the press conference that followed.
The Media Club is expected to serve as an excellent platform for developing students’ creativity, communication skills, media literacy, and technical skills, while providing them with valuable practical experience in the field of media.
